This was my favourite experience in Barcelona. The Paella was far better than any I found in a restaurant. I was the only non seafood eater so got to cook my own special chicken Paella with Chef Hugo. The chefs are lovely and their passion for sharing this cooking experience with attendees shines through.

If you love food and you're looking for a truly unique experience, check out GAB LAB. My friends and I came to Barcelona and decided to do this for our friend's 40th birthday. You start by learning a bit about the history of paella and going to the fresh market on La Rambla to pick out all your ingredients. You then spend the next several hours learning more of the history of paella, and how to prep and cook it from scratch

Highly recommended! Paella is not a trivial dish to prepare. Chef Gabriel and his associates made everyone feel welcome, encouraged everyone to actively participate in cooking, demonstrated the basics and nuances of preparing seafood and vegetarian versions of the dish, fed us delightfully, and sent us on our way with recipes and a fresh appreciation for the culinary arts. We would cheerfully take this class again.
